Swelling of percolation clusters

چکیده
The swelling of percolation clusters as models for gelling branched polymers is analyzed by using a simple mean-field approach (for all dimensions) and a Monte-Carlo simulation (for d = 3, bond fluctuation method). The numerical swelling exponent ~' = 0.443 + 0.008 shows a significant deviation from the lattice animals solution ~' = 0.5, which is caused by the difference between quenched and annealed

We have performed extensive numerical simulations to estimate the fractal dimension of the mass and also the anisotropy in the shape of sample spanning cluster (SSC) in 2-D site invasion percolation processes with and without trapping. In agreement with the most recent works, we have observed that these two different processes belong to two different universality classes. Furthermore, we have...
متن کاملTHE SCALING LAW FOR THE DISCRETE KINETIC GROWTH PERCOLATION MODEL
The Scaling Law for the Discrete Kinetic Growth Percolation Model The critical exponent of the total number of finite clusters α is calculated directly without using scaling hypothesis both below and above the percolation threshold pc based on a kinetic growth percolation model in two and three dimensions. Simultaneously, we can calculate other critical exponents β and γ, and show that the scal...
متن کاملSize and mass determination of clusters obtained by polycondensation near the gelation threshold
2014 The gelification process by polycondensation leading to self similar clusters of polyurethane is studied, near and below the gelation threshold. In dilute solutions, where light scattering experiments are performed, the interaction between clusters is a function of 03B5, the distance to the gelation threshold. This is a direct evidence of the swelling of the clusters. Thus, the experimenta...
متن کاملThe shape of invasion percolation clusters in random and correlated media
The shape of two-dimensional invasion percolation clusters are studied numerically for both nontrapping (NTIP) and trapping (TIP) invasion percolation processes. Two different anisotropy quantifiers, the anisotropy parameter and the asphericity are used for probing the degree of anisotropy of clusters. We observe that in spite of the difference in scaling properties of NTIP and TIP, there is no...
متن کاملExcess number of percolation clusters on the surface of a sphere
Monte Carlo simulations were performed in order to determine the excess number of clusters b and the average density of clusters nc for the two-dimensional “Swiss cheese” continuum percolation model on a planar L×L system and on the surface of a sphere. The excess number of clusters for the L× L system was confirmed to be a universal quantity with a value b = 0.8841 as previously predicted and ...
